Not your typical cat hotel. My girlfriend and I have explored and gone with other options in the past, but Mod Cat is definitely the best out of all of them. The cats are housed in a room that really feels like a home -- it shows in the cats; all of the cats that we've seen when visiting have been right at home -- our cat especially was able to make some new friends while there. I almost felt bad taking her back home :P Kathleen was great. We got daily picture updates of our cat, for FREE (looking at you, Mission Cats). This place is beyond amazing. The facilities are immaculate and the hosts are so loving and easy to communicate with. We got regular photos and even a video while we were away of our kitty. My cat loved this place so much, he spent the first couple days home sitting in his carrier in hopes he'll be taken back. He usually hates his carrier and runs for his life when he sees it, as it means he'll be taken to a vet or a boarding facility. This place is clean and the cats get plenty of play time. From the photos and videos that Kathleen sent me I could see that my cat was enjoying his two week vacation while we were traveling. Highly recommended! - Galiya K.
I loved the Mod Cat Hotel but more importantly our cat Luna loved it. Kathleen was so caring and took excellent care of our little friend - even zipped her off to the vet when our cat needed some attention. She kept in constant contact with us, provided great photos, and made us feel great knowing that Luna was in good hands. The hotel is spotless, light filled and airy. If I could make this 6 stars I would! This is our first time using a cat hotel and we were impressed. We left our cat Ringo there for 9 days and he was extremely happy. Kathleen would text us pictures and updates every so often which made us feel reassured that our cat was in excellent hands! The Mod Cat Hotel was clean, bright and friendly. Well worth the price! We picked up our kitten, Puma this morning following a 2 week stay while we were away. We were very happy with the loving care he had. Kathleen sent us several reassuring pictures of Puma with updates on how he was doing. The instant I met Kathleen and saw her beautiful accommodations I knew that I was making the right choice for my cat. Kathleen is warm and compassionate. She truly loves animals and treats all the cats in her care as her own. Her place is clean, bright, and has all of the toys a cat could want. My cat has a big personality and demands a ton of attention and I can tell he was well loved while at Mod Cat. Kathleen even sent me photos and videos of Truman while I was away and gave me the sweetest gift when I picked him up! I wish I could give Kathleen and Mod Cat Hotel 10 stars! - Brigid A.
I was very nervous about leaving my two kittens for a week while traveling for work. I read the amazing reviews for Mod Cat on Yelp & decided to look into it - very glad I did. My kittens had a wonderful time & Kathleen was very easy to communicate with. She sent me updates & photos of my kittens having fun, which kept my mind at ease. I live two blocks from a Wag Hotel but prefer to board my kittens with Kathleen - I know they will be well taken care of & her prices are significantly more reasonable. "I wholeheartedly recommend Mod Cat! I recently boarded my kitties at Mod Cat for an extended stay while I was between houses and Kathleen made the transition easier for all of us. I had no worries about my kitties because Kathleen has created a kitty haven at Mod Cat where my kitties were well cared for and lovingly monitored. My shy kitty, Cowgirl, not only felt comfortable enough to come out and play, but also warmed right up to Kathleen. An added feature for my kitties was the option to open the door between their sleeping quarters so they could be together. Cowgirl and Snickers are very close and this was a feature that provided extra comfort for them. Mod Cat gave my kitties a home away from home when we needed it." - Lynne B.
"This is the best set-up for cat boarding I have ever seen. The cats have a 3 tier individual "house" (4 in total), and a large common area for play. Lots of room, natural light, I was amazed. You expect some plastic carriers lined up in a dingy room and then you find this! This is the ideal solution for cat owners who, for some reason, cannot have a pet sitter do the service where the cat lives and therefore prefer to board. "- Walter O.

I am a volunteer for a cat rescue group in the area and was invited to visit this boarding facility today. It was everything a cat boarding facility should be! It is in the home of a wonderful and responsible woman who puts the needs/wants of her animals first. The boarding cats have a great, secure room and private area where they can be out in the room to play and sit in the sunny windows or be in their private area - whatever they choose. No attention to detail has been overlooked. I would totally board my own cats here and have no reservations recommending it. - Gail C.
